• My name is Paulette Delancy Simmons. I am the third child among seven siblings.  I am from the beautiful Island of Kew North Caicos. At the age of 6 years old I began attending Kew primary school, newly named The Hubert James primary school and at the age 11 years I attended Reymond Gardiner high school. After completing my High school I move to Providencial to seek job employment due to not having many jobs on the Island of North Caicos. I am married with four children and ten (10) grandchildren. I was a member of the Senior Citizens club in Providenciales helping with day-to-day activities. Additionally, I am a Minister and praise and worship leader at the House of Prayer Ministries church in Long Bay Providenciales.

For the past thirty-four years, I have been dedicated to my role at the SNAP Center, where I serve as a Special Needs Teacher. During my tenure at SNAP, I have had the privilege of teaching and guiding four students, supporting their successful transition from SNAP to the job market, with two of them transitioning to General Education. Furthermore, I have pursued higher education, obtaining an associate degree in Early Childhood and computer studies at the Turks and Caicos Islands Community College, based at the Providenciales campus. Presently, I am continuing my academic journey by pursuing a bachelor’s degree in special education at Western Carolina University in North Carolina. This pursuit reflects my unwavering commitment to enhancing my knowledge and skills in the field of special education. My mission is to ensure that every child, regardless of their learning abilities, receives a comprehensive education and is equipped for their transition into the adult world.
